Darby flew in from California and her dad Joe drove from Colorado just to have a Cheesesteak with me. That is my version of their story. They may have been in town for family matters. I went to Union Steaks with low expectations. Union Steaks is take out only. They have some interesting offerings on a smallish menu including a Salmon Cheesesteak. I was pleasantly surprised at the weight of my cheesesteak the first time I picked it up. It came on a big bready roll. It had a very good amount of good meat. The meat had a nice chop. I would have liked more cheese. The fried onions were good but probably could have added more to the cheesesteak. At $10 it was a solid cheesesteak."

"Happened upon this gem when I had to walk back to our car from the stadium during a Union game. Super nice guy working & cooking. It was half time, so not busy at all. They were out of banana pudding (sadly), since that was what drew me inside. But I got a pastry instead- similar to a pain au chocolat but it was rectangular. Not a crescent shape. Lots of chocolate inside. Very generous amount, not just the 2-3 pieces that is traditional in fancy French bakeries. Every bite had chocolate! We split among a few kids and adults & everyone said it was tasty. And a steal for the price! Leave them a big tip so this local biz stays open. Looking forward to trying the hot food next time- burgers and cheesesteaks & fries."

"I traveled from Atlanta to Union Steaks, and it was worth it! Perfectly located by the Philadelphia United arena, the cheese steaks are among the best in the area. Soft bread, fresh peppers, and onions made every bite delightful. Bonus: the entire menu is Halal! The staff is friendly, and their cheese steak nachos are a must-try. Can't wait to try more next time I'm in town."

"It was very tasty, the people there were also very friendly and also the restaurant was really clean. An example was that they really seemed to care about their customers, they treated me like I was a part of their family. Really nice restaurant and people working there. I recommend everybody to eat there. I also am a bit confused about the negative comments here, I didn't make any experience there that was negative and also as I already said, the store was clean in every corner... The food was also very tasty, but everyone has his own taste. Love to all of the customers, I really enjoyed it there and hope we will see us soon again."
